Bramblekit and his sister, Tawnykit, are born to Goldenflower and Tigerstar. He looks exactly like his father, with a muscular, broad body, dark brown fur, and amber eyes. He looks nothing like his mother.
Whenever Fireheart (warrior name) sees Bramblekit, he worries that he will grow up to be a killer and a traitor like his father. But Goldenflower always sticks up to him and says he will be a warrior like any other. Every time he looks at him he sees his father, which scares him.
Fireheart also worries about the horseplay between Snowkit and Bramblekit. Bramblekit is still learning, given the evidence that Goldenflower scolds him in A Dangerous Path to not be rude to the Clan deputy, Fireheart.
Soon, Darkstripe takes Bramblekit and Tawnykit to see their father, Tigerstar. Fireheart is very angry about the situation, given the fact that he sent the kits immediately home.
Bramblepaw is now an apprentice to Firestar, Clan leader, after Bluestar's death. Firestar chose to mentor him himself so he wouldn't end up like the evil Tigerstar, according to his worries which he still holds.
Soon the cats go to a Gathering, and Firestar chooses Tawnypaw and Bramblepaw to come to Fourtrees with the skilled warriors. Firestar asks Whitestorm and another warrior to keep an eye on Tawnypaw and Bramblepaw so Tigerstar doesn't sneak them away.
To Bramblepaw's sorrow, his sister decides to leave ThunderClan and join ShadowClan with his father, the leader. She believes that she won't grow up well in ThunderClan and to join another Clan is her only choice.
Bramblepaw gets an invite later in The Darkest Hour to join TigerClan, a mix of ShadowClan and RiverClan, but Bramblepaw refuses and stays with LionClan, a mix of ThunderClan and WindClan.
Tigerstar, his father, soon later dies from a cruel way of killing from the leader of BloodClan, Scourge.
Now a warrior, Brambleclaw appears after the big gap of Clan business in Warriors: The New Prophecy: Midnight. He has a dream about a sun-drown place where he should talk to Midnight. He had no clue what Bluestar, whom gave him the prophecy, meant, but he has a feeling no other cat should know about this, not even the leader. But things don't go very well with keeping his secret from Squirrelpaw, his apprentice.
Later on, he finds out that Feathertail from RiverClan and his sister Tawnypelt have had this same dream. They plan to leave their Clans on a journey with guidance from StarClan to find this sun-drown place and find out what Midnight has to tell them. But three other cats decide to come along: Crowpaw, from WindClan, Stormfur, from RiverClan (he came along to keep his sister safe), and Squirrelpaw, who accidently found out Brambleclaw's little secret and had no choice but to tag along and see what Brambleclaw and these other cats were up to.
Back at camp, Firestar is very worried about his daughter and one of his warriors. He blames himself for their disappearance because he has had a very angry tone of voice lately when speaking to these two cats. But only Leafpaw, his other daughter, knows what happened to them, but not all the details and why they were leaving.
When they reach the sun-drown place with Purdy, a kittypet, they meet Midnight, whom is a badger sent from StarClan. She tells them that great danger is to come upon the forest and each Clan must leave their territory immediately, because of Twoleg (human) invasion.
Soon they return back to their camp after Feathertail's sad death caused by the Tribe of Rushing Water's enemy, whom is known as Sharptooth. They meet this Tribe of cats on their way through crossing the mountains and they think that Stormfur is the chosen one to protect their Tribe from this scary cat.
Brambleclaw and Squirrelpaw soon end up making a relationship with each other.
A few books later, Graystripe goes missing, whom is the Clan deputy after Whitestorm's death long ago. Assuming that he is dead, Firestar calls a new deputy whom is Brambleclaw. Yet Graystripe does come back to his Clan with a loner, Millie, his new mate, after the long ago death of his former mate, Silverstream.
Soon Firestar dies and Brambleclaw is named Clan leader.
